One submission, many categories. We've simplified the process so independent filmmakers can spend more on their craft and less on entry fees.
At SLPFF, a single submission to a primary category — say, Feature Film — automatically enters your work for consideration in associated awards including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, and more.
We welcome films from around the world across all genres: drama, comedy, thriller, horror, sci-fi, animation, documentary, music videos, faith-based films, and Southern storytelling.
First-time filmmaker or seasoned professional — SLPFF celebrates the diversity and daring spirit of independent cinema.
We accept films regardless of premiere status. Whether your film has screened at other festivals, released online, played at a community theatre, or is brand new — it is eligible to submit.
A selection of awards presented on the closing night of the festival. Final category list and additional honorary awards announced closer to the festival.
